One of the things I'm most excited about this Fall is something that's actually been quietly true for a while now…
My daughter Windy is officially joining Jackrabbits full-time
A lot of you already know her — from practices, summer camps, and meets over the years. She was a letterman in track at Cal, earned her BA there, and went on to get her Master's at USF. But what makes Windy so special isn't her athletic background (though it's a great one). It's the way she sees kids.
Before coming to us full-time, Windy spent years as a first-grade teacher at Woodland School. And it shows — in her patience, in the way she gets down to a kid's eye level, in the little encouragements she finds for the quietest athlete in the group.
Every kid deserves a coach who notices them.
Having my daughter here full-time means the Jackrabbits experience just got warmer, more consistent, and a little more joyful for every family that walks onto the track this season

A new tradition
Joy's Jackrabbits is more than running… 💛
Every week now has its own special Jackrabbits theme ✨
This year we're introducing something REALLY special… Every week of Jackrabbits will now have a character theme connected to the class experience.
So one week might focus on teamwork… another on gratitude… another on confidence or kindness 💛
We'll still be running, jumping, hurdling, relays, and having FUN… but we'll also be helping kids learn positive life habits through sports and movement.
Jackrabbits has never only been about track and field. It's about helping kids feel:
- happy
- capable
- confident
- included
- proud of themselves
That's always been the heart of the program 💫
A little surprise
A Backpack Full of Joy
Every athlete this Fall will receive their own official Joy's Jackrabbits backpack 🎒✨
And each week… they'll earn a brand new collectible decal connected to that week's theme and class experience.
The decals attach directly onto the backpack using Velcro… so over the season kids build their own collection week by week 💛
We want it to feel: joyful • memorable • encouraging • FUN 🐰

We're continuing to build new ways to make the Jackrabbits experience even better for kids and families.
This Fall we're also introducing some new "Joy Systems" that help us continue improving the class experience over time.
One of those is something called the JoyPad 😊
The JoyPad helps us better understand how kids and families are feeling after class… what they're loving… and where we can continue growing.
For us… Joy matters. Confidence matters. Belonging matters.
We want every athlete leaving class feeling happier than when they arrived 💛

Over the years… Jackrabbits has grown almost completely through families sharing the experience with other families 💛
And that means everything to me.
So many of our new athletes come because:
