There Is a Class
for Every Age

Joy's Jackrabbits offers Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall sessions for athletes of all ages—no prior experience required. Littles, Middles, and Leaders all start exactly where they are.

Every class follows the same proven Jackrabbits structure, including warm-ups, skill development, and an Event of the Day (running, jumping, or throwing). As athletes grow older, the structure stays familiar—the pace quickens and the skills become more advanced.

  • Littles build comfort, coordination, and confidence through play
  • Middles develop technique, focus, and teamwork
  • Leaders refine skills, efficiency, and confidence at a faster pace

In addition to group classes, private coaching is available. Practices are held at tracks throughout the Bay Area, including Stanford University, Gunn High School, Addison Elementary, Piedmont High School, Glorietta School, Acalanes High School, and Los Gatos High School.

If you have any questions about readiness, class placement, or what's best for your child, please contact us—we're happy to help.

Our Class Schedule

Joy's Jackrabbits Classes focus on proper running mechanics, posture, learning track & field events, history and understanding the sport with good sportsmanship, being kind & having a great attitude.

A Typical Practice

We start each session sitting together in a circle for a short team meeting. We share the plan for the day, connecting track skills to life lessons like focus, kindness, and effort.

Next, athletes break into age-appropriate groups and head out for a warm-up jog. Once we're warm, we stretch and move into drills that build strength, coordination, and good posture and technique.

From there, we move into the Event of the Day—anything from sprints or hurdles to long jump or throws. Over the season, every athlete experiences running, jumping, and throwing in a way that feels fun, safe, and confidence-building.

We always finish with a relay—because teamwork and joy matter. Before we leave, we review our day, get a sticker, and close with our team cheer:

“Good posture. Good attitude. Be grateful and kind.”
